Global Fleet Champions to host webinar on leadership for road safety as part of UN Global Road Safety Week

12 April 2019

Global Fleet Champions is running a free webinar providing expert information and advice for employers and fleet and road safety professionals on effective leadership to mark the United Nations Global Road Safety Week taking place 6-12 May 2019.

The webinar, Effective leadership for safe and healthy mobility in fleets, sponsored by Lytx,will discuss:

  • why it’s so important to put fleet safety first and the benefits of doing so;
  • what effective leadership looks like;
  • which measures employers need to introduce for safe and healthy mobility; and
  • how engaging with local communities and lobbying local and national governments can bring about road safety change.

The webinar takes place during the fifth United Nations Global Road Safety Week on Wednesday 8 May 2019. The week will focus on leadership for road safety, inspiring leaders to take action by showcasing strong leadership for road safety within governments, international agencies, NGO’s, foundations, schools and universities, as well as private companies. Attendance at the webinar is free, and you can register by booking online.

Sarah Plumb, senior fleet officer at Brake, said : “Good leadership is pivotal in order to ensure fleet safety and sustainability. Business leaders have the power to prioritise and manage the safe and sustainable operation of any vehicles they operate and governments have the power to regulate and enforce these safe and sustainable operations.”

As they become available, resources to assist those who are planning activities and events to mark the Week, including logo and slogan, sign boards, template petition letters and pledge announcements, and a toolkit for organizers, will be available on this web page and on www.unroadsafetyweek.org/en/home
