Essential driver and vehicle safety checks are the focus of the latest fleet manager guidance from Global Fleet Champions.
A new webinar factsheet published today aims to guide fleet managers through conducting regular checks to make sure their drivers are fully permitted to drive and fit to be behind the wheel.
The resource, sponsored by DriveTech, covers why it’s important to carry out regular driver, vehicle and licence checks, as well as when checks should be conducted and what effective vehicle inspection policies look like.
Global Fleet Champions factsheets are for anyone who manages people who drive for work, regardless of budget, fleet size or vehicle type, and are designed to give managers short, simple advice on key road safety topics.
Scott Williams, head of programme delivery at Brake, the road safety charity, said: “Any organisation that employs anyone who drives for work needs to know they meet the physical and legal requirements to be safe on the roads, and that their vehicles are in safe working order. We hope that fleet managers can use this new factsheet to improve their policies for conducting effective checks that make sure their drivers and vehicles are as safe as possible.”
