Virtual roundtable: Vehicle procurement and maintenance

28 June 2022

10am - 12pm BST

Online

When buying, hiring or leasing new vehicles, it is essential that fleet managers make safety their primary consideration and introduce the safest vehicles available into their fleet within the constraints of their budgets. This means choosing vehicles with systems that can help prevent crashes from occurring or reduce the likelihood of death or injury if a crash does occur.

Vehicles must also be maintained to high safety standards, usually stipulated by the manufacturer. Vehicles should be checked regularly, by people qualified to do the task.

This roundtable will discuss:

  • the key elements of safe vehicle purchasing and replacement procedures;
  • about the importance of ongoing vehicle maintenance; and
  • the daily checks drivers can undertake to identify any problems with their vehicles before driving them.
