The Essentials of Fleet Safety is a series of five, 60-minute webinars to give champions the essential elements of running a fleet safety programme. The webinars are based on the five pillars of Global Fleet Champions: Driver behaviour, Incident analysis and intervention, Vehicle procurement and maintenance, Journey routing and modal choice, and Community outreach.
Essentials of Fleet Safety 5 is about vehicle procurement and maintenance.
When buying, hiring or leasing new vehicles, it is essential that fleet managers make safety their primary consideration and introduce the safest vehicles available into their fleet within the constraints of their budgets. This means choosing vehicles with systems that can help prevent crashes from occurring or reduce the likelihood of death or injury if a crash does occur.
Vehicles must also be maintained to high safety standards, usually stipulated by the manufacturer. Vehicles should be checked regularly, by people qualified to do the task.
In this webinar you will learn:
- the key elements of safe vehicle purchasing and replacement procedures;
- about the importance of ongoing vehicle maintenance; and
- the daily checks drivers can undertake to identify any problems with their vehicles before driving them.
Who should attend?
Representatives of any organisation that employs people who drive for work, including:
- fleet managers
- health and safety managers
- transport managers
- HR professionals
The webinar is also relevant for road safety NGOs, fleet suppliers, insurers, fleet risk management and driver training providers.
